Ritch Macefield

Ritch has worked in IT since 1985 and UXD since 1995. He has a blue chip background – at Data General Corporation he was promoted to be the UK’s youngest ever Senior Consultant. Ritch has a BA (Hons) in Creative Design, an MSc (Distinction) in Computer Science and a PhD (Loughborough) in HCI. His international experience spans 15 countries.

Ritch's UXD strengths are in: Information Architecture, Interaction Design and Usability Engineering. He has published numerous refereed papers on UXD, UCD and Usability Testing, and was on the editorial board of the “Encyclopaedia of HCI” (2007).

Ritch is a UK qualified technology teacher (Cert. Ed), EU approved "IT Trainer-Trainer", and a Fellow of the Institute for Learning (IFL). He qualified as a Master Practitioner in NLP and has a certificate in "NLP Techniques for Advanced Learning and Facilitation". Ritch has also lectured extensively in both IT and learning, at Masters level, in Universities across 5 countries, as well as publishing numerous refereed papers on advanced learning and co-authoring 3 books on IT and education.
